SAWS Desalination Plant Tour

The San Antonio Post is sponsoring another tour of the San Antonio Water Systems (SAWS) Desalination Facility on Fri, Nov 3, from 2 pm to 4 pm, at 4588 Hardy Rd., Elmendof, TX 78112

DESCRIPTION

The purpose is to see how this operation is making San Antonio's water supply more resilient. You will get a tour of the Desalination Plant and see how this supply feeds into the SAWS distribution system. You will also learn how SAWS uses their storage reservoirs to ensure supply during over peak demands. This will be a great networking opportunity with SAWS and other professionals.

We will meet at the site at 2 PM. Tour will conclude about 4 PM.

Tour attendees MUST wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.

RESERVATIONS

The is no cost for the tour. The tour is open to all San Antonio Post members. The maximum number of participants is 60.

All participants must pre-register for the tour by clicking on the DESAL Tour registration above.

The deadline for reservations is Wed, Nov 1, 5 PM or until space runs out.

DIRECTIONS

The plant is about a 30 to 40 minute trip from the downtown area. The directions following I-37 are as follows:

• Take Exit 120, Hardy Road

• Turn Left on Hardy Road

• Turn Left again onto Hardy Road/Matthis Road

• Bear Right to continue on Hardy Road

• Turn in Front Gate of SAWS Desalination Plant (see photo of gate HERE)

• Proceed to the H2Oaks building

CAR POOLS

We are looking at the possibility of car pooling from the TriPoint Event Center. So please complete the related questions when registering so we can determine the interest in car pooling.

CANCELLATIONS

You can cancel your tour reservations right up until the ticket sales deadline, Wed, Nov 1, 5 PM.
